"Frick: Blessing storms brought crop damage" by: Jessica Shepard

Precinct 4 Commissioner Bubba Frick commented on last Friday’s storm hitting the Blessing area at Commissioners Court Monday morning.  “We had some bad storms come across Blessing last week,” he said.  “We were hit with hail and had some bad crop damage to our area, too.”

A.J. Louderback won the Republican primary runoff election for Texas House District 30 in Matagorda County over Jeff Bauknight Tuesday, May 28.  Louderback received 1,087 votes, or 67.52%, in Matagorda County, to Bauknight’s 523 votes, or 32.48%.

Maya Wilkinson, BSN, RN of Matagorda Regional Medical Center (MRMC) was recently honored with The DAISY Award For Extraordinary Nurses.   The award is part of the DAISY Foundation’s programs to recognize the super-human efforts nurses perform every day.

BMX riders can begin using Bay City’s first BMX Bike park that officially opened its hours Monday, June 3.   Storms forced the cancellation of the park’s grand openings May 18 and June 1.
