After a brief closed session, Bay City ISD trustees unanimously approved removing the Texas Historic Landmark designation for the original Linnie Roberts Elementary (OLRE) campus during their meeting last week.

STP’s Unit 2 scheduled refueling outage begins

STP’s Unit 2 began its 23rd scheduled refueling and maintenance outage on Friday, March 22, when the unit was safely taken offline to conduct work.

Commissioners unanimously approved an extension of the Matagorda County Declaration of Disaster for Shrimp Dumping during their regular meeting Monday morning.  All commissioners were present for the meeting.  The declaration is extended from March 25 to end on May 6.

After almost an hour in closed session, Van Vleck ISD school board members unanimously voted to rescind the Feb. 19 contract for asbestos abatement with Asbestos Control of Texas (ACT) during their regular meeting Monday night.

Commissioners unanimously approved accepting the City of Deer Park's donation of Motorola APX radios during their regular meeting Monday morning.  All commissioners were present at the meeting.

"Breakwater to be rebid" by: Mike Reddell

The Sargent Breakwater and Beach Nourishment project will be rebid after the original bid failed to meet qualifications, Precinct 2 Commissioner Mike Estlinbaum said last week.
