“As of today at noon, we have had just over 1,000 voters show up for early voting, which is pretty typical for an election such as this one,” County Clerk Stephanie Wurtz remarked Monday about the Nov. 7 election that includes local elections and 14 constitutional amendments.

LCRA awards $10,000 to expand museum space

CASA joins churches in ‘Stand Sunday’

Matagorda County – Since 2004, churches across the country have shown their commitment to supporting the most vulnerable populations in their communities through “Stand Up Sunday” every second Sunday in November.
This year, Stand Up Sunday falls on Sunday, Nov. 12.

Warrant issued for Palm Village shooting

A warrant was issue in connection with the shooting that wounded a 38-year-old Bay City man at Palm Villege at about 6:45 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 26, Bay City police said.
Officers were dispatched to 1901 Palm Village, in the rear of the complex, in reference to a person who had been shot.
