   A request for qualifications (RFQ) from professional engineering consultants to address anticipated impacts from Wharton County’s proposed levee system was approved by Matagorda County Economic Development Corporation (MCEDC) board members Friday, March 31.

   Houston-Galveston Area Council (HGAC) Executive Director Chuck Wemple heard countywide concerns at a pop-up event in Bay City last week.    “We have quite a large organization and it’s important for us to hear about your needs and to provide as much help as possible,” said Wemple.

   City council unanimously approved a resolution in support of a crime victim coordinator and liaison grant during their regular meeting last week.    All council members were present for the Tuesday meeting.

"City seeks loan to close gap for wastewater improvements" by: Mike Reddell

   City Council will seek a $10 million federal loan to close a funding gap for major wastewater treatment plant improvements.    The city received $38 million in funding from the Texas Water Development Board in 2019 for wastewater treatment improvements.

"Tidehaven trustees OKs $41K budget change" by: Jessica Shepard

   Tidehaven ISD school board members unanimously approved a $41,240 budget amendment during their regular meeting Monday night.    Trustees Stephen Crow, Marty Crain, Stuart Lynn, Mike Galvan, and Eric Kacer were present for the meeting while board members Mike Pierce and Cody Frick were absent.
