   Over 100 entries were featured at the annual “Rice Dish Round-Up” Oct. 15.  “We actually received 125 recipes for the contest, but about 120 showed up for judging,” said Matagorda County Extension Office Manager Cynthia Page.

LCRA Arbuckle Reservoir now operational

  Arbuckle Reservoir near Lane City is complete, full and ready to help meet the region’s growing need for water.     The Lower Colorado River Authority announced the reservoir is operational during the LCRA Board of Directors recent meeting in Caldwell.

When, where to vote for Nov. 4 Special Election

   EDITOR’S NOTE: As of Friday, Oct. 24, a total of 450 early votes had been cast in Matagorda County, County Clerk Stephanie Wurtz said.  Voters who want to cast an early ballot still have Thursday-Friday, Oct. 30-31, to do so.

BCISD issues advisory of smoke in building last week

   Bay City ISD issued an advisory  at 8:10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 22, that smoke was identified in the Bay City High School building.  The staff quickly identified the source of the smoke and swiftly removed it from the building.
