Almost a dozen Czech Republic visitors spoke with local leaders and toured STP facilities last week.  The group was composed of people who are researching possible future nuclear projects and to hear from locals about the impacts of STP on living in the county.

The City of Bay City will implement a credit card surcharge for payments made to the city using credit cards, effective Jan. 6, 2025.   This decision comes as a result of increasing transaction processing costs, which the city can no longer absorb while maintaining essential services and programs.

Bay City police served a man with seven warrants and charged him on three additional complaints in what officers said was an ongoing criminal investigation.  Calvin Williams, 44, was charged with possession of controlled substance, fail to identify-fugitive from justice, and theft, reports show.

Precinct 4 Commissioner Bubba Frick reminded audience members that the county-wide burn ban was on during Commissioners Court Monday morning.  All commissioners were present for the meeting.  “I just wanted to remind everyone that the burn ban is still on,” he said.
