The Bay City Independent School District Police Department announces the promotion of Officer Heather Lewis to the rank of Lieutenant.
Lewis has served with the Bay City Independent School District Police Department in this position before and has returned to continue her outstanding professionalism with the department, said L.C. Cunningham, Jr., Chief of Police for the Bay City ISD Police Department.
. During her tenure, she has played a vital role in enhancing campus safety, building positive relationships with students and staff, and supporting initiatives designed to create secure learning environments across the district, the chief added.
“Lieutenant Lewis has consistently exemplified the values of integrity, service, and leadership,” Cunningham said.
“Her commitment to protecting our students, staff, and visitors makes her exceptionally deserving of this promotion.
“I am confident she will continue to serve our district with distinction in her role.”
As Lieutenant, Lewis will assume increased supervisory responsibilities, including department operations, mentoring officers, coordinating safety initiatives, and supporting the department’s mission to provide a safe and welcoming educational environment, Cunningham said.
“I am honored to accept this promotion and grateful for the support of Chief Cunningham and the department, said Lewis.
“I look forward to continuing our work to ensure the safety and well-being of everyone in our schools.”
