He was honored with the Silver Spur Award from the Matagorda County Cattleman’s Association.
Recognition of Ralph Cole, DVM 35 years of service to the Beef Cattle Industry of Matagorda County
For more than 35 years, Ralph Cole, DVM has provided dedicated veterinary service and leadership to the beef cattle producers of Matagorda County, Texas.
His commitment to cattle health, herd management, and the success of local ranchers has made a lasting contribution to the quality and productivity of beef cattle herds throughout the county.
Cole has played an important role in the prevention, control, and eradication of cattle diseases, including his work in the eradication of brucellosis.
Through years of diligent herd testing, disease surveillance, producer education, and veterinary guidance, he helped local cattlemen protect their herds and strengthen the health of the area’s cattle industry.
He has also been instrumental in the control of bovine trichomoniasis (Trichomoniasis), helping producers understand the disease, implement appropriate testing and management practices, and reduce its impact on reproductive performance and herd productivity.
Beyond disease prevention, Cole has served as a trusted herd health consultant to generations of Matagorda County cattle producers.
His practical knowledge and experience have helped ranchers make informed decisions regarding herd health, reproduction, nutrition, breeding, disease prevention, and overall herd management.
His efforts have consistently extended beyond treating individual animals - he has worked to improve the health, efficiency, and productivity of entire beef cattle herds.
For 35 years, Cole’s work has reflected the best traditions of veterinary medicine: service to livestock, service to producers, and service to the agricultural community.
His knowledge, dedication, and willingness to work alongside cattlemen have contributed significantly to the continued strength of the beef cattle industry in Matagorda County.
In recognition of 35 years of outstanding service and his lasting contributions to the health and productivity of Matagorda County’s beef cattle herds, we proudly honor and recognize Ralph Cole, DVM.
