   Bay City Blackcats’ quest for a state championship fell in a quarterfinal playoff loss to the La Vernia Bears, 42-24, at Bastrop Memorial Stadium Friday night, Dec. 6.    The four-deep playoff game was Bay City’s highest climb in the state playoffs since 2003.

Tidehaven posts 35-21 win over Lexington

   The Tidehaven Tigers handed Lexington a convincing 35-21 loss in the UIL quarterfinals at Cy-Fair’s Pridgeon Stadium Friday, Dec. 6.  The victory puts the Tigers in the final-four, semifinal game against the Woodville Eagles at 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 12, at Randall Reed Stadium in New Caney.
