"Van Vleck drops close one after 2nd half comeback" by: Mike Reddell

   Van Vleck dropped a close, 5-point 33-26 game against Ganado last week, despite a 254-yard rushing performance from Corey Austin.  Austin had three touchdowns against Ganado, including a 71-yard scoring romp.  Van Vleck’s Steve Moore ran for 74 yards, with one run for 65 yards, and a touchdown.

"Blackcats prepare for season opener with Sweeny" by: Mike Reddell

   Bay City Blackcat Head Coach Robert Jones said he was pleased with his team’s scrimmage with 5A-1 Angleton last week and talks about this week’s game against Sweeny.  “I think we played good overall, but I think we missed some opportunities to put some scores on the board,” Jones said.

Van Vleck takes on Ganado Indians

   Van Vleck scrimmaged Palacios last week and will travel to take on longtime area opponent Ganado there Friday.  “Scrimmage went very well,” Head Coach Shannon Permenter said.   “We played much better offensively and defensively,” Permenter added.

BCHS Cross Country competes at Brazos HS

   BCHS Cross Country competed in their 3rd meet of the year at Brazos HS.  “This was the first time Bay City has competed at Brazos HS and I would like to add this was not a Personal Best Course,” said Head Cross Country Coach Rilea Sanders.
