   Bay City began the 2023 football campaign with a decisive 40-27 win over Sweeny Friday, Aug. 25, at Memorial Stadium.    The Blackcats shook off a rough first half – Bay City trailed 14-10 at half - and came out firing in the second half.

   Ganado – Under the direction of new Head Coach Shannon Permenter, the Van Vleck Leopards made the trek to Ganado to face a feisty Indian squad.      Both teams went toe-to-toe for most of the game, but a blocked field goal attempt led to a late go-ahead touchdown for Ganado in a 20-14 win.

"BCHS alums race to big wins" By Bob Button

   Two former BCHS swimmers (Keith Hill, ‘92 & Blake Holden, ‘95) raced to big wins in their specialty event earlier this month.      Both competed in the 45-49 age classification.      Hill finished first in both the 200 meter breaststroke (2:37.82) and 200 meter individual medley (2:24.

   Blackcat Head Coach Robert Jones said he expects a physical game when Bay City opens its 2023 football campaign at Memorial Stadium Friday night, Aug. 25.    “I expect us to come out playing fast and physical for four quarters,” Jones said.
