"Reel Reviews: ‘Sonic the Hedgehog 3’ slides into theaters just in time for Christmas" by: Jessica Shepard

   As a 90s kid, I grew up playing various “Sonic the Hedgehog” franchise videogames throughout my childhood and even now into adulthood, too.  That being said, when the recent movies were announced, I made sure to catch them as soon as possible and that carried through to last weekend.

‘Begin again’

   I love this article title because there are no negative connotations associated with it as there is with the title Start Over.   Some readers might argue that it means the same thing.   I disagree.

   The Tidehaven Tigers lost its bid to return to the state championship game this week, but a sizeable group of its fans did their part last week.  Late in the semi-final game with the Woodville Eagles, a roar came from several Tiger stalwarts bearing long plastic horns.

   It’s strange to me that Christmas is in less than a week.  I think we’re reached my least favorite time of year because it feels like everything exists in some sort of time warp during the last leg of the holidays.  I’m not even including Mike’s broken shoulder in these perceptions either!

   We are into to the last full trading week for the year with all eyes on the Federal Reserve announcement on Wednesday.    The betting money is for another quarter point reduction. There is some thought though that last week's economic news that inflation moved a touch up to 2.7% and GDP was 3.

   I know not every digital streaming service has the same capital to invest in projects that don’t make it to normal movie theaters.  However, that doesn’t make them any less worthy of reviewing when the cast is fairly decent.

‘Party Preparations ’

    Everyone loves a party!   Just the word itself instigates a feeling of excitement or fear determined by whether you are on the invitation list.   It can be a gathering of likeminded individuals sharing the desire to celebrate someone, a momentous occasion or in its simplest form, life itself.

  If the Aggies' recent loss to our longtime, burnt-orange rival from Austin wasn't painful enough, a clipping from the Sentinel's Nov. 29 edition showed someone was pretty darn happy with the game's outcome.

   If you read Mike’s column in last week’s newspaper, you’ll know that he got injured at the Blackcat football game on Nov. 29.  Well, to be more specific, he ended up with a broken shoulder and what we’re pretty sure there was a concussion even if he doesn’t exactly remember it.
