"Tidehaven falls to E. Bernard in quarterfinals" by: Mike Reddell

   Tidehaven was defeated 34-31 by East Bernard in the quarterfinal round of the UIL Texas Football Championship Friday, Dec. 5, in Iowa Colony.  The loss came when East Bernard mounted a late fourth-quarter comeback with about two minutes left in the game.

"Dungeoneers ‘Hairspray: The Broadway Musical’ debuts Friday" by: Jessica Shepard

   Bay City High School Dungeoneers’ “Hairspray: The Broadway Musical” debuts at 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 5, at the campus theater.  Other 7 p.m. performances are slated for Saturday, Dec. 6, and Tuesday, Dec. 9.  A 2 p.m. matinee show is available on Sunday, Dec. 7.

 Matagorda County AgriLife Extension Agents made their annual county interpretations to Commissioners Court at its regular meeting Monday, Dec. 1.  Greg Baker, County Extension Agent (CEA) for Agriculture and Natural Resources, said he tries to address all of the needs of Matagorda County citizens.

   The City has scheduled an “Animal Control Ordinance Update Public Input Session” for Tuesday, Dec. 16.  The event is set to run from 5:30-7 p.m. at the Bay City USO Service Center, 2105 Avenue M.  The input session comes months after the City released an online survey on Sept.

City of Bay City becomes Keep Texas Beautiful affiliate

   The City of Bay City has joined the affiliate program of Keep Texas Beautiful (KTB), a statewide community improvement, litter prevention and beautification organization.  KTB is a network of Texans working together to make Texas the cleanest and most beautiful state in the union.
