Engine fire destroys truck at Walmart

   An engine fire destroyed a late-model pickup truck at the Walmart parking lot at about 9:30 a.m. Friday, April 18.  Bay City Volunteer Fire Department, Bay City Police Department, and the Bay City Fire Marshal were sent to a vehicle fire in the WalMart parking lot, 4600 7th St.

   This weekend has plenty of events for everyone to enjoy.  There’s something for everyone at the Matagorda County Birding Nature Center’s “Arbor Day Food Truck Festival” from 6-10 p.m. Friday, April 25, at the center, 1025 TX 35.  Tickets are $5 in advance at Green Bros.

Mike Pierce inducted to Region IV Hall of Honor

   Coach Mike Pierce was recently inducted into the 2025 Region IV Track Hall of Honor.  Pierce has had a long standing involvement in Tidehaven athletics and the Tidehaven track meet has already been renamed the Mike Pierce Relays.
