Girl Scouts paint Kindness Rocks

    Girl Scouts from Troop 156991 take their Girl Scout promise “to make the world a better place” to heart.   At their spring meeting they painted Kindness Rocks to “hide” around Matagorda County in hopes to bring a smile to someone who sees it.

   If you’re looking to catch the Easter Bunny out and about this weekend there are a handful of county events you can check out.  Bay City Parks and Recreation Department has its annual “Easter Egg-Stravaganza” on Friday, April 18.  The event will be from 12-3 p.m. at LeTulle Park, 1135 TX 35.

"City OKs Hilliard Pool contract with YMCA" by: Mike Reddell

   City Council approved an agreement with YMCA of the Golden Crescent to operate Hilliard Pool from May 1 to Sept. 30, at council’s regular meeting April 8.  YMCA currently manages 16th Street pool and is projected to manage the proposed aquatic center when it is built, city officials said.
