The Bay City Main Street Program board unanimously approved two façade grants during its monthly meeting last week. Edward Jones’ John Dickerson was approved for $4,736 to replace 10 single-pane windows with double panes and replace any corresponding wood damage.

Filings for the May 3 city election are complete – for the mayor and three city council places. Two candidates, Cory McCray and Susan Reardon, have filed for the open Position 4 seat, vacated by Becca Sitz, who is term-limited. They join incumbent Mayor Robert K.

Police: 1 killed in deadly turn at Palm Village apartments during robberies

Bay City police issued a briefly worded press release last week telling about a deadly shooting at Palm Village Apartment Complex Thursday, Feb. 13. The release reported that officers went to Palm Village “for multiple aggravated robberies” around 5:25 p.m. Feb.

Every once in a while, I’ll come across a movie that makes me wonder why it was even made. Due to some scheduling overlaps, I ended up viewing Netflix’s “Back in Action” last week. Honesty, I find nothing worthy of reporting outside of how annoying the children are.

Progress is being made in the two weeks since the county’s ransomware attack, County Judge Bobby Seiferman said in an update at Commissioners Court regular meeting Monday, Feb. 10. “We’re moving along, but we have a ways to go,” the judge said.
