   Matagorda County voters cast ballots for the two incumbents on the Port of Bay City Authority board and approved Van Vleck’s tax payments election in the Nov. 7 election.    In addition, the county followed statewide trends in approving all but one of the constitutional amendments on the ballot.

   Port of Bay City Authority commissioners unanimously approved $5,000 towards upgrading the pager system for countywide volunteer fire departments at their meeting last week.    All commissioners were present for the Nov. 6 meeting.

   The Palacios Volunteer Fire Department, the Palacios Fire Marshal, and the Palacios Police Department were dispatched to a trailer house on fire at 405 E Craymer, trailer #26 Thursday, Nov. 2.       A homeowner was mowing a neighbor’s lawn when he identified smoke coming from his trailer.
