   An abatement application for a proposed $7 billion alternative fuel plant was received and a public hearing for a related reinvestment zone was set for Nov. 20, at Commissioners Court meeting Monday, Nov. 6.

   City Councilman Ben Flores ran into council opposition on his remarks about the right to agriculture practices that he said were “generally accepted.”     Flores has previously sought city permission to raise pigs on his property off Hamman Road.
