Tidehaven schools start this week

   Tidehaven students are headed back to school campuses Thursday morning, Aug. 10.       Markham Elementary opens its doors at 7:45 a.m. this year with Blessing Elementary, Tidehaven Junior High, and Tidehaven High School all opening at 8 a.m.    All Tidehaven campuses release at 3:30 p.m.

   Blackcat Head Coach Robert Jones said he was pleased with his team’s inter-squad scrimmage Saturday, Aug. 5.    “It went good - the defense played awesome and the offense made some plays but like always it takes the offense longer to gel but they made some great plays also,” he said.

   Tidehaven Head Coach David Lucio said the players returned in better shape for the first week of workouts.    “A lot of our boys have come back significantly bigger, stronger and faster,” Lucio remarked.      “So far we have gotten what we expected,” he added.

   Bay City firefighters, police officers and Fire Marshal Dan Shook were sent to a building fire at Palm Village, on Tuesday, Aug. 1, reports show.       The call came in at about 9 p.m., at 2001 Palm Village Drive, Bay City.

Charges pending in 3-car accident July 31

   On Monday, July 31, 2023, at approximately 1:18 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 4000 block of 7th in reference to an accident.     The caller advised one of the vehicles was fleeing the scene of the accident.
