Van Vleck ISD is hosting a 5K Run/Walk Saturday, Jan. 10, in support of Jacob “Goose” Guzman’s battle with cancer.The event features a “Kids Race” starting at 9:30 a.m. with the 5K Run/Walk following at 10 a.m. – all at Van Vleck High School’s Burl McKinney Field, 8980 TX35 North.

Community Actors of South Texas (CAST) is holding One-Act Play (OAP) auditions this weekend.Auditions for “Fighting Demons” and “Henchmen, 1603 London” are slated for 5-8 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 11, and 6-8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 12, at the CAST theatre, 920 Nichols Ave in Bay City.
