"Port authority OKs tax rate, 2026 budget" by: Mike Reddell

   The Port of Bay City Authority board approved the fiscal 2026 tax rate and budget at its regular meeting Thursday, Sept. 18.  The tax rate approved of $.04650 per $100 valuation, is computed on the Port of Bay City Authority certified value of $8,697,575,362 at 98% collection.

   Highly Innovative Fuels (HIF) praised community partnerships and gave several project updates to nearly 300 attendees at its town hall luncheon last week.

BCPD seeking help on hit, run

   Bay City Police still are seeking information about a Sept. 13 hit and run incident.  Police said a Bay City resident was struck by a vehicle in the 1800 Block of Palm Village in front of Palm Village Apartments at 2:25 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 13.
