"Events open countywide starting Thursday" by: Jessica Shepard

   There are several events happening this weekend starting as early as Thursday morning.  As of press time Tuesday morning, all of the following events are on tap countywide.  The Matagorda County Museum is hosting a one-day “Forrest Bess Appraisal Fair” from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m.
Bay City ISD Education Foundation's Annual Great Steak Cook-Off's “Best Steak” award was given to Tenaris Bay City's "Pipin' Hot Cookers" team on Saturday, March 22. Above are team members Josue Noriega, Mike Montalvo, Lorenzo Henderson, and Jesus Vera. In keeping with cookoff tradition, Tenaris' team was auctioned off to prepare a steak dinner for 10 to the highest bidder for $5,500. See Page 5 for more Great Steak Cookoff winners’ photos.
