EOC issues advisory for TS Francine

   The Matagorda County Emergency Operations Center is monitoring the development of Tropical Storm Francine and has placed the EOC team on stand-by.  Effective immediately, Matagorda County issued a voluntary evacuation for the coastal areas of the county.

2 killed in Van Vleck car crash

   Two females, aged 19 and 17, were killed when the BMW they were passengers in crashed and caught fire after colliding with a Cadillac on Texas 35 in Van Vleck at 12:35 a.m. Monday, Sept. 2, according to DPS Sgt. Stephen Woodard.
