   Grant Friesenhahn is the Valedictorian of Bay City High School’s Class of 2026.  Grant is the son of Darren and Natalie Friesenhahn, grandson of Diana Desoto, Mary Friesenhahn, and Paul Remlinger and brother to Julianne Matl and Dawson Friesenhahn.

   Bay City High School’s class of 2026 Salutatorian is Jasmine Glenn.  Jasmine is the daughter of Fatma Yilmaz and Nathan Glenn.  She’s also the granddaughter of Șükrü and Ayșe Yılmaz and Ray and Debbie Glenn.  Jasmine is attending the University of Texas at Dallas and majoring in animation.

"Early vote underway for state runoff races" by: Mike Reddell

   The top state runoff races for the two parties include U.S. Senate, Lt. Governor and Attorney General.  The runoff races will be on May 26.  Early voting began May 18 and runs through May 22, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., at the Bay City Service Center and the Palacios Community HUB, 1001, 5th St.

"Springfield plans to be a child psychiatrist" by: Jessica Shepard

   Van Vleck High School’s class of 2026 Salutatorian is Marina Springfield.  Marina is the daughter of Matthew and Danielle Springfield, granddaughter of Mr. Willis, and the sister of Wade Springfield.  Springfield is headed to Abilene Christian University to major in biomedical sciences.

"VVHS graduating 91 seniors" by: Jessica Shepard

   A total of 91 students will graduate from Van Vleck High School, starting at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, May 21, at Burl McKinney Stadium.  Valedictorian Makayla Alford and Salutatorian Marina Springfield will be recognized and give speeches addressing their fellow classmates and audience members.

"Council OKs 380 agreement with BCCDC" by: Mike Reddell

   City Council approved a Chapter 380 Economic Development Agreement between the City and Bay City Community Development Corporation (BCCDC) for an Aquatics Center at council’s Special Called Meeting May 12.  The city will convey 5.501 acres of real property to BCCDC for the project site.
