"More new and little or no answers to the problems" by: John Sample

Memorial weekend came a bit early this weekend.
I was lucky enough to spend time with your publisher and some very old high school friends reminiscing about the halcyon days of yore.
Of course it was all mythology and little or no factual recollections, but in our defense, probably indictment, we are old and our memories are failing.
It was fun but just like the real point of this holiday weekend we dearly miss those that have gone before us.
As to the actual holiday, it honors those that gave the ultimate sacrifice for those of us fortunate to be alive to honor their sacrifice.
As to the markets, the S&P 500 made it 8 weeks straight of gains.
It didn’t good early, but the market rallied on hopes of a resolution to the Iranian conflict.
News over the weekend were that an agreement was very close.
I will believe that when I see it.
Moreover, I find it hard to believe you can trust the longevity.
It may just be a pause to get past November.
If I were the Iranians, that is what I would fear most.
Of interest last week was the dog and pony show that Elon put forth for the IPO for SoaceX.
It will by far be the biggest initial public offering.
The goal is to seriously go where no men have gone before.
Establishing permanent communities and data centers in space.
I would laugh but Musk has done things no one believed possible such as reusable rockets that come back and land on the pad from which they departed.
Musk just operates on a different level.
We did get more news of surging inflation last week.  If we do reach an agreement with Iran, the drop in oil prices should help alleviate some of that pressure.
The problem with inflation is that it goes up quickly and comes down very slowly and very little of any.
  We just seem to adapt.
I hope all of you exercised your right to vote this week.  Hard to justify complaining if you don’t at least participate by voting.
I understand not relishing the choices but it is what it is.
Your publisher and I have served on the City Coucil in our home town and it is an eye-opening experience even at such a low level of government.
