"TEA releases accountability ratings for ISDs" by: Jessica Shepard

   The Texas Education Agency (TEA) publicly released statewide accountability ratings on Aug. 13.   “1,202 districts and 9,105 campuses were rated in 2026 - 24% of both districts and campuses increased in rating compared to 2025,” reads TEA’s Aug. 14 press release.

"MCEDC OKs joining Lone Star Coastal" by: Mike Reddell

   Matagorda County Economic Development Corporation board members agreed to join the Lone Star Coastal National Recreational Area Act at the board’s meeting Friday, Aug. 14.  “We’ve been asked to sign on a 146-mile corridor along the coast,” MCEDC Executive Director Mike Ferdinand told the board.

"MARAD holds final hearing on ST LNG" by: Mike Reddell

   The Maritime Administration (MARAD) had its final public hearing for the ST LNG Deepwater Port with three local officials giving positive comments at the Bay City Civic Center Wednesday, Aug. 12.  The proposed project calls for a deepwater port about 10.4 nautical miles offshore of Matagorda.
