   While the weather forecast keeps shifting ahead of the weekend, check out these indoor and outdoor activities.  Thursday kicks off the weekend with two unique events.  Bay City Chamber of Commerce & Agriculture and Ann’s Nails & Spa host a grand opening ribbon cutting for their new location.

   Van Vleck ISD officially announced Cody Carney as the new VVISD Athletic Director (AD) and Head Football Coach last week.  VVISD trustees made the unanimous decision on Tuesday, January 20.

   Matagorda County Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Office hosted continuing education units as part of the annual Matagorda County Cattlemen’s Association symposium last week.  Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Entomologists Dr. Sonja Swiger and Dr.
Sentinel Photo/Jessica Shepard Almost 80 citizens participated in the annual "Martin Luther King, Jr. Silent Unity March" on Monday, Jan. 19. Attendees walked roughly five blocks to the Hilliard High Alumni Building while holding a variety of posters and photographs depicting King. Elected officials present included Matagorda County Judge Bobby Seiferman, Bay City Mayor Robert Nelson, and Councilman Ben Flores.
