   School districts countywide resume classes starting early next week.  Some districts have events connecting students and guardians with teachers and district staff starting Thursday, Aug. 6.    Van Vleck ISD campuses open Monday, Aug. 10.  “Meet the Staff Night” is scheduled for Thursday, Aug.

While students were able to receive backpacks full of school supplies, guardians toured informational and community vendors at the Bay City High School campus. Other event features included health and dental screenings, games, prizes, bus rider information, and physicals with EKG testing.

   A 20-year-old Bay City surrendered to Bay City Police after a standoff – stemming from a domestic disturbance call – at a Palm Villege apartment Tuesday morning, July 21, police reports show.
