   Matagorda County AgriLife Extension Office’s annual “Row Crop Tour” drew about 30 attendees last Thursday.  Speaker topics ranged from weather and market forecasting to pesticide and herbicide licensing requirements.

McCray wins Place 1 City Council runoff

   Cory McCray won the Place 1 Bay City City Council runoff election over Stacy L. Rowh by a 217-158 vote margin Saturday, June 13.  McCray’s vote total won 57.87% of the vote, while Rowh received 43.75% of the total.  The election total of 375 votes was 3.

   The Aquatics Center is going forward, Bay City Community Development Corporation (BCCDC) Executive Director Melanie Townsend told council at its workshop meeting last week.

   The Bay City Main Street Program was recognized as an Accredited Main Street America program for 2026.

"Commissioners hear aquatic center, data center forum updates" by: Mike Reddell

   Mayor Pro Tem Jim Folse told Commissioners Court Monday that the Aquatics Center “continues to move forward” and noted a groundbreaking will be held soon.   Other speakers at the court’s comments section, included Donna Howard and Cheryl Wilkins with Matagorda Against Data Centers.
