   The Tigers JV hosted Palacios last week and won 28-18.    Scoring touchdowns for Tidehaven were: DB Hayden McCarver on a 40 yd int return, QB Camden Johnson 15 yd run, WR Angel Guitierrez 25 yd td reception from Johnson and WR Brandon Valentine 12 yd td catch from Johnson.

   Tidehaven jumped to a 2-0 record with a 58-0 thrashing of Odem at home last Friday, Sept. 1.    Both of the Tigers wins in this early 2023 season were from huge-margin shutouts over Goliad 30-0 Aug. 25 and Odem.

   The Edna Cowboys overcame a 14-point Bay City lead to topple the Blackcats 28-21 in Edna Friday, Sept. 1.    The Blackcats surged to a 21-7 lead late in the third quarter only to yield 21 unanswered points to the Cowboys, who began their comeback with 25 seconds left in the third.

   Bay City began the 2023 football campaign with a decisive 40-27 win over Sweeny Friday, Aug. 25, at Memorial Stadium.    The Blackcats shook off a rough first half – Bay City trailed 14-10 at half - and came out firing in the second half.

   Ganado – Under the direction of new Head Coach Shannon Permenter, the Van Vleck Leopards made the trek to Ganado to face a feisty Indian squad.      Both teams went toe-to-toe for most of the game, but a blocked field goal attempt led to a late go-ahead touchdown for Ganado in a 20-14 win.
