Pilot Club of Bay City President Barbara Smith presented Precinct 6 Constable Bill Orton, a check for boating safety signs at a recent Pilot Club meeting. This donation covers the signs and installation, providing safety guidelines for boaters at all Sargent area boat ramps. We encourage all boaters to take a picture of the sign so they have the information on hand if needed. Sentinel Photo/Mike Reddell City Council proclaimed Domestic Violence Awareness Month at its Sept. 22 meeting.The Crisis Center of Matagorda and Wharton County is dedicated to helping victims of domestic violenceby providing free and confidential services such as advocacy, education, shelter and resources. In the past year, the Crisis Center has provided services to 418 clients of domestic violence and 7,314 nights of shelter to adults and children.

This special event served 34 children, with each child receiving a brand-new bed frame, mattress, sheets, blanket, pillow, and additional donated items to help create a comfortable space they can call their very own.
