   Bay City Community Development Corporation (BCCDC) board members unanimously approved tabling the Bay City Chamber of Commerce & Agriculture’s website grant payment during their meeting last week.     Board Vice President Erandi Allison was the only member absent.

   Bay City Parks & Recreation Department (PARD) Advisory Board members heard updates for the upcoming year from PARD Manager Kelly Penewitt during their meeting last week.  Board members Chard Hartman and Jordan Piwonka were the only ones present.

   After a brief public hearing, Tidehaven ISD trustees unanimously approved the 2026-27 tax rate and fiscal year budget at their meeting on Aug. 31.  The school board adopted a $0.8578 total tax rate per $100 housing valuation.  That tax rate includes $0.

   Matagorda County Commissioners Court members got two different government vantage points from people addressing them in the court’s public comments section Monday, Aug. 31.  Donna Howard and Donna Huitt both presented arguments about how the county government leads this county.
