   Matagorda County Cattlemen’s Association recently awarded Daniel Roy Tucker III its Cattleman of the Year.  In Matagorda County, ranching isn’t just a job — it’s a way of life.   It’s early mornings, muddy boots, river bottom pasture, and the kind of handshake that still means something.

Scout leader recognized at district awards dinner

   The Coastal Plains District of Scouting America celebrated the dedication, leadership, and service of its volunteers, families, and outstanding Scouts during the recent 5th Annual Coastal Plains District Awards Dinner in Rosenberg.

WCJC Foundation welcomes Development Coordinator

   The Wharton County Junior College Foundation welcomes Lesley Blanks as the WCJC Foundation Development Coordinator. Blanks joined the Foundation team in January and brings more than 20 years of teaching experience in education, along with a deep connection to the college.
