Police probe shooting on Hamman Rd

   A 19-year-old was wounded and taken by helicopter to Houston for treatment following a shooting on Hamman Road at about 8:46 p.m. Friday, April 26, Bay City police said.

County fire calls

   Bay City Volunteer Fire Department:  On April 11, at 6:50 p.m., responded to a smoke smell at the 5600 block of 7th.  On April 12, at 12:17 a.m., responded to a smoke smell at the 3300 block of Avenue F.  On April 16, at 2:36 p.m., responded to a grass fire at the 1700 block of Spruce.

   The Bay City Junior Service League annually gives back to high school juniors and seniors from Bay City, Tidehaven and Van Vleck who want to further their education.   This year we awarded $42,500 in scholarships.
