MCFLA Fair & Rodeo Roundup of events

   The Matagorda County Fair & Livestock Association’s 80th Annual Matagorda County Fair kicks into gear this weekend.   Swine judging and showmanship start bright and early at 8 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 29.   The Senior Citizen Day and Craft Show is from 9 am. until 1 p.m.

Tenaris awards $50K in scholarships in partnership with MCFLA

   Tenaris is partnering with the Matagorda County Fair & Livestock Show (MCFLA) to introduce a new scholarship, the Tenaris Bay City Scholarship for Agricultural Sustainability, for a total of $50,000 in awards.

   Matagorda County Fair and Livestock Association’s 2024 Fair and Rodeo royalty winners were chosen last weekend.  Emily Dunbar was crowned the 2024 MCFLA Rodeo Queen on Saturday, Feb. 17.

   Nine candidates graced the stage at VFW Post #2438 to discuss a variety of topics and stances last week.  Questions were taken from the audience, reviewed by the Matagorda County Republican and Democratic Party chairs, and given to moderator Vince Bryant to be read out loud.
