Observance of President’s Day falls on Monday, Feb. 19 this year. Van Vleck and Bay City ISD campuses will be closed to students Monday. Students of both districts will return to regular hours on Tuesday, Feb. 20. Tidehaven ISD students will have class at regular hours Monday.

Texas 35 closing dates confirmed

The dates for the permanent railway replacement on Texas 35 near McDonald’s have been confirmed. The replacement will begin at 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 16, and is scheduled to end by 8 a.m. Monday, Feb. 19.

Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone (TIRZ) 1 and 2 board members reviewed conceptual designs for “Cottonwood Park” and “Barkway Park” during their regular meeting last week. Both parks would be located just north of downtown on city-owned property and provide a variety of amenities.
