Tourism OKs two birding sponsorships

   Bay City Tourism Council members unanimously approved two $3,000 sponsorships promoting eco-tourism during its regular meeting Monday.      The first grant was approved for the 27th Annual Audubon Matagorda County Mad Island Marsh Christmas Bird Count (CBC) slated for Monday, Dec. 18.

   Bay City ISD hosted a “Lone Star Governance Town Hall” event via Zoom last week.    BCISD Superintendent Dr. Dwight McHazlett, along with trustees Jill Westmoreland, James Scardami, and Priscilla Robinson, were joined by over 115 participants.

"VVISD board approves audit" by: Jessica Shepard

   Van Vleck ISD trustees unanimously approved the financial audit for the 2022-2023 fiscal year ending Aug. 31, 2023, during their regular meeting Monday night.     All board members were present at the meeting.     “The audit was performed successfully,” said Wade Whitlow, KM&L, LLC partner.
