   Ryleigh Siptak took home second place and $500 for winning the 2026 Tex Ritter Round Up singing competition hosted by Carthage’s own KGAS radio station Aug. 8.   Ryleigh sang Tammy Wynette’s hit song, Stand By Your Man.

   Commissioners Court heard a complaint about the county’s hotel occupancy tax (hot tax) at its regular meeting Monday, Aug. 10.  At the public comments section Rebecca Huebner said she was upset how the hotel occupancy tax (hot tax) was collected.
