   Matagorda County Extension Agent Greg Baker welcomed almost 50 attendees to the Matagorda County SWCD #316 workshop June 13.  “I’ve already heard several questions about feral hogs circulating and let me tell you, we’ve got an expert presenter for you,” he said.

   Matagorda County SWCD #316 workshop featured six different speakers covering everything from clean water and feral hogs to commercial motor vehicle regulations last week.  Lone Star Healthy Streams Program Specialist Leanne Wiley explained the importance of water quality to nearly 50 attendees.

   After more than an hour in closed session, Bay City ISD trustees unanimously approved announcing Christopher Townsend as the “Lone Finalist” for its Superintendent of Schools position last week.

Juneteenth closings

   Juneteenth falls on Thursday, June 19, this year.  All federal offices will be closed in observance of the holiday, including banking institutions and the United States Postal Service.
