   City Council is scheduled to convene the Bay City Airport Zoning Board of Adjustments on Tuesday night.  At that meeting, council members will discuss and possibly approved the rules and procedures for the board and appoint a chairman of the board.

   After almost an hour in closed session, Van Vleck ISD trustees approved preparing to issue Requests for Proposals (RFP) to upgrade the track and field playing services at Burl McKinney Stadium during a special meeting Monday night.

"BCCDC OKs three grant applications" by: Jessica Shepard

   Bay City Community Development Corporation (BCCDC) board members unanimously approved two façade and one website grant at their monthly meeting Monday afternoon.

"Early voting underway for May 4 election" by: Mike Reddell

   Early voting began Monday, April 22, for the May 4 joint election that features two Bay City school board seats.  Bay City ISD voters will vote for Lora Beth Robicheaux or Esau Rodriguez for the trustees’ Place 6, while incumbent Jill Westmoreland is unopposed for the Place 7 post.

"Commissioners proceed on Blessing Community Center" by: Jessica Shepard

   Commissioners unanimously accepted a letter to proceed with the Blessing Community Center project during their meeting Monday morning.  All commissioners were present for the meeting.

"Flores presents pig farm reports" by: Jessica Shepard

   Councilman Ben Flores presented “Right to Farm in Texas: Pigs and the City of Bay City” at the end of last week’s council meeting.   “This presentation is my opinion and not the city’s,” he said in his opening disclaimer.

"Smoker cooking meat blamed for back yard grass fire" by: Dan Shook

   Bay City Volunteer Fire Department, Bay City Police Department, and Bay City Fire Marshal were sent to a grass fire at 1714 Spruce at about 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 16.   The resident was using his smoker to cook some meat, and the heat ignited grass in the back yard.
