The Matagorda County Fair & Livestock Association’s (MCFLA) “Annual Fair & Rodeo” has its closeout events this week. Kicking off with the MCFLA swine show at 8 a.m. Thursday, March 5, in the outdoor arena. Senior Citizen Day is from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the KC Hall, 3070 Hamman Road.

Bay City’s Joint Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone (TIRZ) board members 1-4 reviewed annual reports in each zone at their meeting Thursday, Feb. 26. The boards reviewed tax increment funds for TIRZ 1-4 and the annual report for fiscal 2025.

A little over 1,000 Matagorda County voters cast their votes through Sunday, Feb. 22, in the early voting in the 2026 Primary Election, which began Tuesday, Feb. 17, and continues through Friday, Feb. 27. The Primary Election will be Tuesday, March 3, 2026.
