   Family members escorted their Van Vleck High School 2026 graduates onto Burl McKinney field on May 21.  Graduate Tyler Snow led the American and Texan pledges before Sidney Cason gave the invocation.

DA graduates from Leadership 254

   Matagorda County District Attorney Steven Reis is among 21 county officials who have successfully completed Leadership 254, a 14-month leadership development program offered by the Texas Association of Counties (TAC).
From Matagorda County Soil and Water Conservation District Sneary Cattle Company was honored with First Place in the Conservation Rancher category. They were recognized at the Area 3 Conservation Awards Banquet on May 6, in George West. Sneary Cattle Company is Loy and Helen Sneary and their children - Adam and wife Alycia, and Shannon and husband Jim.

   Bay City High School’s class of 2026 Salutatorian is Jasmine Glenn.  Jasmine is the daughter of Fatma Yilmaz and Nathan Glenn.  She’s also the granddaughter of Șükrü and Ayșe Yılmaz and Ray and Debbie Glenn.  Jasmine is attending the University of Texas at Dallas and majoring in animation.
