   Eight-year-old Owen Lyons was honored as a Junior Police Officer in a City Hall ceremony last week with the Chief of Police and the Mayor of Bay City.    “Owen is so blessed by so many outstanding law enforcement members in our community,” Bay City Police Department Sgt.

Wadsworth man drowns in Selkirk

   A 56-year-old Wadsworth man drowned in the Colorado River at Selkirk Island trying to move a barge around 5:15 p.m. Sunday Aug. 6, Matagorda County Sheriff’s Department reported. Deputies were sent to Selkirk on a possible drowning call.

Estlinbaum announces demolition of Sargent bridge
