"BCISD OKs agreement with YMCA" by: Jessica Shepard

   After a brief overview, Bay City ISD trustees unanimously approved a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) agreement with the YMCA of the Golden Crescent for after-school daycare services during the regular board meeting Tuesday last week.

Commercial heifer clinic July 31

   Matagorda County AgriLife in conjunction with the Matagorda County Cattlemen’s Association will be offering a Pen of 3 Commercial Heifer Clinic at 6 p.m. Monday, July 31, at the Main Arena at the Matagorda County Fair Grounds.    The clinic will cover heifer selection and the care of livestock.

"County submits no wake zones on Caney Creek to P&W" by: Mike Reddell

   Commissioners Court authorized Precinct 2 Commissioner Mike Estlinbaum to submit “no wake zones” in both Sargent and Matagorda to the Texas Parks and Wildlife (P&W).    Estlinbaum stressed getting approval from P&W will make them enforceable by all law enforcement agencies.

   A delegation of 17 visitors from the Philippines and Indonesia visited with local leaders and toured STP facilities last week.    The group was composed of people who are working in nuclear projects and it included several political leaders.
