The Annual Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day will be from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, Oct. 14, at the Matagorda County Fairgrounds.    Household hazardous waste is any product labeled: toxic, corrosive, poison, flammable, combustible, or an irritant that is ready for disposal.

After about 25 minutes in closed session, Tidehaven ISD school board members unanimously approved renovations at the baseball and softball fields during their regular monthly meeting Monday night.    All trustees were present at the meeting.

Sheriff Skipper Osborne battled with Commissioners Court over a pay raise for Sheriff’s Office jailers at the court’s regular meeting Monday, Oct. 2.    Osborne said the raises are important to bring his jail staff up to standards, adding that he was seven jailers short.
