"Tidehaven trustees OKs $41K budget change" by: Jessica Shepard

   Tidehaven ISD school board members unanimously approved a $41,240 budget amendment during their regular meeting Monday night.    Trustees Stephen Crow, Marty Crain, Stuart Lynn, Mike Galvan, and Eric Kacer were present for the meeting while board members Mike Pierce and Cody Frick were absent.

Unattended burn barrel ignites fire

   Bay City Police Department was sent to an ordinance violation, illegal burning at 2908 Pershing, at about 1:30 p.m. Monday, April 3. Prior to arrival, dispatch received additional calls indicating the fire had caught the back yard on fire and was growing in size.

   Commissioners Court honored Vietnam veterans by a proclamation that commemorated the 50th anniversary of the Vietnam War, at the court’s regular meeting Monday, March 27.

"Cook-Off raises over $85K for foundation" by: Jessica Shepard

   The 13th Annual Great Steak Cook-Off is estimating between $85,000-90,000 from 375 people raised from last Saturday’s fundraiser.    This is the first year for the Bay City ISD Education Foundation to lead the event after the Boys and Girls Club of Bay City and Matagorda County shut its doors.

   Van Vleck ISD trustees approved a continued-use agreement with Cub Care, LLC for the O.H. Herman Middle School campus’ band hall during their regular meeting Monday, March 20.    The agreement expires on May 31, 2023, and could be reviewed by the board at that time.
