   Port of Freeport Director of Business and Economic Development Jason Miura spoke to about 30 people during a Bay City Chamber of Commerce & Agriculture luncheon last week.    Miura’s presentation covered the port’s continuing expansion project and the variety of industries serviced at the port.
Sentinel Photo/Jessica Shepard Bay City Rotary Club President Jessica Russell announced Cory Morrow as this year's headliner for the club's annual "Summer Concert" during a Bay City Chamber of Commerce & Agriculture mixer last Thursday. Russell added that choosing Morrow represented a chance to return the concert series to its 'country' roots and that ticket sales would happen soon. The concert is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 19.

   The City of Bay City and Matagorda County will share costs in repairing a section of 12th Street, City Council decided at its regular meeting June 13.    The rare joint effort will repair the road from Texas 35 to Moore Street and will cost an estimated $252,000.

   Ten newly built beach bungalows soon will be available for a coastal escape at Matagorda Bay Nature Park, providing a picturesque setting for a relaxing weekend or a fun-filled vacation.     The park is located along the lower Colorado River at the Gulf of Mexico.
