Bay City Community Development Corporation board members unanimously approved a $5,000 façade grant for Leissner Holdings, LLC during its regular meeting Monday afternoon.    All board members except for Jim Folse were present at the meeting.

Matagorda County AgriLife Extension Office’s annual row crop tour took in three fields last week and farmers heard experts on ways to combat problems with their crops.    About 15 farmers and sponsors began the tour by gathering to hear guest speakers at El Maton Hall Wednesday, June 21.

Port of Freeport Director of Business and Economic Development Jason Miura spoke to about 30 people during a Bay City Chamber of Commerce & Agriculture luncheon last week.    Miura’s presentation covered the port’s continuing expansion project and the variety of industries serviced at the port.

Russell added that choosing Morrow represented a chance to return the concert series to its 'country' roots and that ticket sales would happen soon. The concert is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 19.
