Emergency management urges plans for storms

   The 2022 hurricane season is forecast to be one of the most active in recent years, so Matagorda County Office of Emergency Management Coordinator Amanda Campos is advising citizens to prepare now before a storm threatens.

   Over 80 new teachers were recognized at the Bay City Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture’s 36th Annual New Teacher Breakfast, Aug. 5.    The bulk of the countywide teachers were hired at Bay City ISD with Van Vleck, Tidehaven and Matagorda ISDs also acquiring teaching talent.

County fire calls from July 25 to Aug. 6

Bay City Volunteer Fire Department:    On July 25, at 8:25 a.m., Bay City Volunteer Fire Department responded to a motor vehicle accident at FM 2668 and Hale Road.    On July 25, at 6:33 p.m., Bay City Volunteer Fire Department responded to an apartment fire at the 1800 block of Palm Village Blvd.
