   The Bay City Community Development Corporation is excited to announce the launch of their new website!      The design is to emphasis highlighting Bay City as the perfect location for residents, business, and industry to live, work, and play.

   Paced by running back Jada Andrews’ 205 yards rushing, Bay City edged Iowa Colony 28-27 in a rainy game there Friday night, Oct. 28.    Andrews set the early pace for Bay City with a 57-yard touchdown run at the 9:25 mark in the first quarter.

   Bay City ISD trustees took no action on naming the Bay City High School gymnasium last week.    Instead, the motion died on the floor and the board tasked Superintendent Dr. Dwight McHazlett with pursuing a “Hall of fame” for staff recognition to be presented at the November board meeting.

2022 Rice Festival Car Show attracts 69 registered entries

   There were 69 registered entries for the 2022 Bay City Lions Club Rice Festival Car show at the Matagorda County Fairgrounds, said car show chairman Hawes Dickerson.    “We had folks drive in from just down the road and a few trailer-in or cruise over from almost 75 miles away, Dickerson said.

Suspect in murder investigation turns himself into Matagorda County Jail

   An 18-year-old man – sought as the suspect in the investigation of a fatal shooting on Whitson Street Oct. 11 – turned himself in the Matagorda County Jail Oct. 17, Bay City police said.    The suspect is identified as Jerome Sanford, police said.     Police responded to a 911 call at 11:11 p.m.
