   Bay City finished second place in District 12-4A-1 and clinched a playoff berth after beating Stafford 27-20 in Memorial Stadium Friday night, Nov. 4.     Senior running back Ayden Smith ran for three touchdowns and sophomore back Jada Andrews had 96 yards on 22 carries against the Spartans.

   Bold Fox Managing Partner Alex Kamkar gave an overview of what’s planned for the subdivision that broke ground Oct. 25, at City Council’s meeting later that day.     “We are making progress,” Kamkar said.

   Early voting has averaged around 600 voters per day in the Nov. 8 general election that began Oct. 24 and will continue through Nov. 4.    There have been 3,121 early votes cast through Friday, Oct. 28, County Clerk Stephanie Wurtz said at Commissioners Court Monday.

Matagorda ISD gets grant for new electric buses

   Matagorda ISD received $790,000 for two new electric buses as part of the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) “Clean School Bus Program.”    The district serves about 90 students and has a total of three buses with one currently out of operation.
